Vhi Healthcare new plan announcement, price increases and benefit changes 01.08.2020

Vhi have announced there will be a new plan 'PMI 53 10' launching from 01.08.2020.

PMI 53 10 will be priced at €1305.63 per adult and €330.57 per child. Young adult rates will start at €448.73.

 

 

5 Vhi plans will also have price increases as of 01.08.2020:

  • PMI 07 10 will increase from €1297.82 to €1323.02 per adult and from €323.53 per child to €328.98. Young adult rates will also increase on the policy. 
  • PMI 10 11 will increase from €1280.06 to €1294.86 per adult and from €354.61 per child to €358.15. Young adult rates will also increase on the policy . 
  • PMI 12 11 will increase from €1242.15 to €1256.57 per adult and from €272.64 per child to €275.37. Young adult rates will also increase on the policy . 
  • PMI 14 10 will increase from €1335.40 to €1366.11 per adult and from €343.41 per child to €350.28. Young adult rates will also increase on the policy.
  • PMI 29 12 will increase from €1280.13 to €1309.73 per adult and from €308.70 per child to €314.87. Young adult rates will also increase on the policy.

 

The following benefit changes will apply:

The Manual Lymph Drainage benefit has been updated, removing the requirement of cancer treatment to avail of the benefit. The tables of benefits have been updated as follows:

  • Old Wording: ‘Manual lymph drainage following cancer treatment – 10 visits’
  • New Wording: ‘Manual lymph drainage – 10 visits’

This benefit change is applicable on 68 plans. Please see excel attachment for further details. 

 

Vhiare also introducing a temporary rule change regards treatment abroad. This will apply until the end of 2020. This change is necessary to aid customers who are stranded abroad due to Covid-19 and unable to return to Ireland as originally planned. It is as follows: 

 

 

Existing Rule 
General Treatment Abroad Rules:
Only Customers resident in Ireland for
at least 180 days each calendar year
are eligible for cover outside Ireland
and/or repatriation.

Temporary Application of Rule
General Treatment Abroad Rules:
Customers who remain outside Ireland for more than
184 days in the calendar year as a result of Covid-19 will
continue to be eligible for cover outside Ireland and/or
repatriation under Section 6 until such time that it is
deemed possible/appropriate to travel back to Ireland.
